Chesterfield Satellite Rotary Club Quiz

Support local charities and join us online for a quiz, auction and a raffle that includes a Crackerjack Pencil!

Join us on Saturday 14 November between 7 and 9pm, for the Chesterfield Satellite Rotary Club online quiz, raffle and auction. Entry is £15 with all funds going to local charities. The only restriction on numbers in a team is how many are in your bubble and how many people you can get round your screen!

For the last few years, the Rotary club has hosted a quiz at the Loundlsey Green Community Centre, last year raising £1,800 for local charities. With COVID restrictions this year it’s taking place online. Thanks to Zoom … if you’ve not come across Zoom, it’s an application that allows video and audio conferencing, (Google it) and what’s more, you can join in the fun from the comfort or you armchair.

In addition to what promises to be a great night’s entertainment we’ve enlisted the legendary Bernie Clifton to get things off to a fun start, and he’ll be popping onto the call throughout the night.

We know many charities have found this year tough and we’ll be supporting Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospital, Sheffield Children’s Hospital and The Elm Foundation with our event.

The quiz will consist of six of rounds of ten questions, the picture quiz always goes down well plus we hope to do a music round and video clips. They’ll be an auction with items kindly donated from Brampton Barbers, Fred’s Haberdashery, Michael South Photography, S40 & S41 Local magazines, Shop Indie, Specsavers, The Creation Station, and many more.

The event has kindly been sponsored by Home Instead, Elliot Mather Solictors and BRM Solicitors, and at the time of going to print tickets had been selling well. With no limit to the number of Zoom attendees able to take part we’re hoping to exceed last year’s amount raised, but that's where we need your help to sell as many tickets as possible.

Why not sign up and challenge your, friends, family or neighbours to take part?

The event normally serves up pie and peas but obviously this can’t happen, but you could preorder a takeaway and maybe accompany it with a local brewed beverage, there is a good choice to be had, I hear!

Tickets (via website) are £15 for a team of any size and covers £10 entry plus 5 x £1 raffle tickets. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased on the night and we're hoping for some great auction bids.

All details can be found on the web and social media, links as below. I look forward to seeing you on the night, virtually of course!
