Finding financial advice that you can trust is a tricky business, and quite often the decision is put on the ‘too difficult list’ or very often, left too late.


Milestone Financial Planning is a local independent business, keen to extend their present client base and with over 50 years combined experience are well placed to offer advice for your circumstances.

The team consists of eight people, all are Chesterfield based and the picture shows left to right, Charlotte Pearce (Finance Manager/Administration) Nick Evans (Financial Planner), Jake Bennett (Technical Administrator), Peter Blant (Financial Planner), Craig Croft-Rayner (Financial Planner), Joanne Ali (Client Service Manager/Administration) and seated, husband and wife, Michael (Managing Director) and Jo Heath (Operations Director).


The business has grown rapidly to support the demand for high quality advice and the team brings with them a wealth (important to a Financial Planner) of experience and knowledge, plus backgrounds in stock broking, law and large financial corporates.


MD, Michael Heath trained as a stockbroker and later worked in a national advisory firm before Milestone was formed. He explains, “I saw a gap in the market for a totally independent advice service. Personal contact can get lost in larger companies and I wanted to offer a local, personal and bespoke service”.


“Milestone Financial Planning offers a single point of contact for people, creating a service that’s based around individual needs at specific points in life’s journey.

The name Milestone emerged from their commitment to this approach. “We help people who want to plan for and protect their future. This can range from pension planning, to investments and inheritance tax planning” Peter explains.


“Our Unique Selling Point is our independence; we have no ties or links to any other Financial Institution. This gives us total flexibility to offer a truly bespoke service. Being of modest size allows us to be agile, act quickly and deliver a cost-effective professional service to our clients.


“We have relationships with local accountants and solicitors and through this can offer an end-to-end service, so there is no need to send people off to do their own leg work, we can do it for them.


“Today’s financial climate is challenging, the industry is changing, politics are impacting decisions, the superstar fund managers of the past no longer exist, banks and building societies are pulling back their financial advice services, and businesses like ours need to change and adapt to stay ahead.”

Michael adds, “At Milestone, we like to keep customers informed, to give them the opportunity to gain confidence, build trust and become more engaged and involved in their own finances.”


“At important and volatile times like this, where we have Brexit on the horizon and seemingly no end to the US/China trade wars, it is vital we stay in touch with customers” says Peter. “It’s about relationships, developing trust, regular reviews, consistent results and supporting people when life demands it - we’re in it for the long term.”


Based at Dunston, the office is modern and relaxed, with parking outside the door for clients. The team know every client, go above and beyond expectation and always deliver the highest standards of service . Michael says, “It’s important that the team know the journey that individual clients are on. At the end of the day, we want our clients to sleep easy at night, safe in the knowledge their investments are at the centre of everything we do”
