A new local business offering window tinting and bespoke car care services
Car window tinting has become so popular these days for several good reasons, it looks great and offers an increased level of security. Robert Watkinson (pictured) from Filthy Poser of Somersall is new to S40 Local and his business is driven from his long standing passion for cars!
This week I met Rob for a quick Q&A to chat about his business, what makes him tick, what he offers and where he covers.
What made you choose window tinting as a business? "I have always loved cars right from a really young age and making them look awesome from the inside to the outside. Window tinting not only looks great on vehicles but it also helps protect against potential theft, as well as blocking out all the UV sun rays to help preserve interiors."
Do you offer a mobile service? "Yes we travel to people's homes and places of work as it is much easier for them. The plan is to have a unit in the near future so I can service more clients but we are always more than happy to travel if it is easier for the customer."
Are you self taught? "When I first started out, I watched a lot of YouTube videos on “how to car tint” but I knew proper training from a certified training centre was the only way forward. I invested in full training from a centre that could offer IMI accreditation (Institute of Motor Industry).
"There are too many rogue car tinters out there that are self taught and are not industry standard accredited. I can be confident offering guarantees and doing a proper installation ensuring 100% satisfaction for the customer."
What are your future plans? "I see a really bright future, not just in car tinting but car body wraps as well. Now that is a transformation on a car! I also want to continue to build my Filthy Poser car care brand too!"
What areas do you cover? "We are happy to travel to a 15 mile radius from Chesterfield in any direction but if a family needed a couple of cars tinting, we are happy to travel further."
What else do you offer – just car tinting? "No not just car tinting, I have always had a passion for making cars look awesome inside and outside and I know all the car care products out there, after years of testing on my own vehicles and friends.
"I decided to set up my own brand of car care products offering; car paint protection, car shampoos, car waxes, tyre trims and interior cleaning products. The brand is really fresh and vibrant and I am told stands out in the market place! I am also getting such awesome reviews on the products which I know are second to none. I wouldn’t use any other products myself!"
