A Girl About Derbyshire - Local Festive Food Places

Molly Scott is one of Chesterfield’s leading, online independent business bloggers, with over 9,000 followers on Instagram alone! Molly is part of the ‘Girl About Squad’, going under the monica of: @girlaboutderbyshire

The Girl About Squad ethos is to champion the authentic and to empower independents, and we are all for that at the magazine.

Molly’s Girl About Derbyshire website is filled with information from local days out with the kids to afternoon tea’s with ladies. Two of our favourite reads are the Derbyshire Gift Guide and her seven fabulously festive things to do in Derbyshire this Christmas.

We asked Molly for a few of her top local places to visit in December:

“On a cold day I like to visit the Fox and Goose on Pudding Pie Hill (Pictured left), it’s just so snug and cosy.

My eyes are always drawn to the vegetarian goats cheese nut roast!”

“I pay Libby’s On Chatsworth a visit at Christmas. It’s beautifully decorated and I always find a gift or two for the family. I’ll be sure to pop next door to Koo for a homemade Viennese mince pie and mulled wine as well, it would be rude not to.”

“Staying on Chatsworth Road I will be popping into Meringue Bakery. There’s a wide range of handcrafted Christmas goodies, think Christmas cakes, mince pies and decadent desserts. It’s just good honest baking and I like that.”

Molly has since written a full festive round up of her places to visit this Christmas including the Hunloke Arms, The Bulls Head (Holymoorside) and Stretton Hall Farm Shop. To read the full guide please go to:

Big thanks to Molly for these recommendations and being a fellow champion of our local businesses.
