What’s great about Vegan Knights Market is you do not have to be Vegan to visit and enjoy the event - The event is open to everyone as a destination family market with entertainment so you can make a day of it and take your time browsing.

If you visited Vegan Knights Market in Chesterfield on its maiden voyage there are two words you might have been unlucky to hear ... SOLD OUT!

The market opened at 10am and at 10.01am money was already changing hands with visitors snapping up vegan and sustainable goods a plenty with many traders completely selling out by end of the day!If you were lucky enough to grab one of Hard Times Vegan Cheeses before they SOLD OUT (S41 did) you, like me, will be looking forward to purchasing your next one at the second Vegan Knights Market Chesterfield scheduled for July 14th (S41 will).

Chesterfield market has been trading for over 800 years so it’s always fantastic to see the marketplace buzzing with visitors of new and old embracing all aspects of the day.

Chloe Boulton helped to create a wonderful atmosphere singing songs from her huge playlist and there were even a few market goers dancing away .... mindful not to spill their beverage purchased from the Winebox!

Street food from Sunshine Deli, Vegan Junk, Pizza Pi and Home Kitchen ensured shoppers were well fuelled ,ready to fill their tote bags up with goodies from traders such as Cup and Saucer Tea, Urban Flamingo, Stephs Sustainable Stuff and Vork Pie (love that name).

Our furry friends were well catered for with items from Dash Vegan and the inspirational Lisa from Artisan Pet Care, with her holistic approach to healing our best friends.

The youngest trader on the day was Ryder aged 7 (just!) from Ryder's Rhinos, he sold succulents to raise money for Charlies Place - animal rescue centre - at £50 donated we think he did amazing!

Another young tag team was Bobbie - Eve (7) and Maisie (7) from Bobbie Fox & Maisie Bee creations who sold an array of handmade goods raising £60 to plant flowers favourable by bees and butterflies, these will be planted at Ashgate Hospice.

So, what did I buy??? Something from every street food seller - before you judge I bought for the whole family! I purchased smokey balsamic dressing from Ashgate Preserves, a Loles soap to tackle my daughter’s eczema, vegetable sauerkraut from Tummy Tonics, a brownie from Rate Good Brownies, a marshmallow lollipop from Ananda Foods and a soy wax melt from Harriet and Lola's candles....... All suitable for those following a Vegan Lifestyle also suitable for those just interested in new and amazing products!

Visitors left with full bellies, even fuller shopping bags and happy with the knowledge they had supported small local, independent businesses, just like we do at S41 and Cakes by Bobbies Den.

We hope to see you at the next event!
